After Candy saves Mr. Garcia from a snakebite and Klint kills the rattlesnake, they stop in a Texan town. The sheriff warns them about kidnappers selling children to Europeans, prompting Mr. Garcia to abandon his laborer plans and consider selling Candy for profit. Bandits attack their camp, and Mr. Garcia trades his life for information about the trafficking ring before fleeing. Overcome by conscience, he returns to rescue Candy and the cart, marking his first selfless act. However, a motorist suddenly appears, seizes both Candy and Klint, and speeds away into the sunrise.
