Miss Pony and Sister Lane discuss the Ardleys' silence and Candy's future. Upon learning Mr. Cartwright wishes to adopt her, Candy considers becoming a cowgirl but fears betraying the Ardleys. She transports orphans to Tom's ranch, where she reunites with Alistear and Archibald. A rodeo performance triggers painful memories of Anthony and a past accident, causing Candy to flee in distress. Albert appears, urging her to choose her life path. After rejoining the group, she learns Alistear and Archibald are heading to London for education. During the return journey, Candy realizes the orphans look up to her. She ultimately decides her destiny lies at Pony's Home, dedicated to caring for the children.
