Ep. 49: Terry Leaves Saint Paul's Academy to Save Candy from Punishment

Terry’s father rejects his plea to help Candy, judging her character harshly. Terry severs ties with his family and confronts Eliza. He then asks Sister Gray to reduce Candy’s penalty, but she insists both cannot stay at Saint Paul’s without damaging their reputations. Terry volunteers to leave the Academy in Candy’s place, adopting a new name. After bidding farewell to the Cornwell brothers, Candy is freed from the ruined tower. She admits her naivety regarding the trap letter, while Sister Gray remains unwilling to acknowledge her mistake. Candy stays in her room until nightfall, when she reads Terry’s goodbye note and overhears Neil informing Archibald and Alistear that Terry is traveling to the US. Desperate, Candy rushes to Southampton port, hoping to catch his ship. Although she cries out to him across the waves, Terry believes he is delusional as his vessel departs.
