Ep. 54: Candy seeks help from a port crew in Southampton to stow away on a ship.

In Southampton, Candy locates Juskin’s struggling maritime business with the aid of a boy named Cookie. Juskin and his crew initially make crude jokes about kidnapping, but clarify they were only joking and possess kind hearts. Recalling Mr. Carson, they agree to assist Candy by hiding her aboard the Atlantic liner Sea Gull during cargo loading. While waiting, Candy hears Cookie play a harmonica tune previously associated with Terry. Cookie explains how Terry befriended him, bought him the instrument, and once suggested he and Candy would be a good match. Realizing Candy’s identity, Juskin attempts to dissuade her from the dangerous, foodless stowaway plan, but she remains determined. The crew wishes her luck as they load her onto the vessel.
