Ep. 13: Goku loses his tail after destroying Pilaf's castle and plane
Aired on May 21, 1986

A Great Ape Goku attacks Pilaf’s castle, forcing Bulma, Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar to flee. Pilaf, Mai, and Shu pursue in an airplane, temporarily subduing the beast before Goku destroys their vehicle. He then targets Bulma, but Yamcha seizes his tail while Puar transforms into scissors to sever it. Goku reverts to his human form, naked and asleep, waking with no memory of the rampage. He borrows Oolong’s pants, retrieves his Power Pole from the debris, and struggles with balance. Yamcha and Bulma return to West City with Puar and Oolong, while Goku sets out to find the turtle hermit for promised training. Bulma provides him with a Dragon Radar to locate the Four-Star Ball.
