Tao arrives and bullies Upa until Goku intervenes. Goku displays superior speed and strength, blocking Tao’s attacks while Bulma works on a scout plane. Tao reveals knowledge of Korin's tower and sacred water. Goku withstands Tao’s Dodon Ray, which only singes his hands. When Tao switches to a sword, Upa retrieves Goku’s power pole, allowing Goku to break the weapon. Tao kicks a stone that misses Upa and destroys the teepee. Frustrated by his defeat, Tao decides to climb the tower to obtain the sacred water.
