Gohan and Krillin depart for Guru’s location to unlock Gohan’s latent abilities, leaving Bulma to guard the Dragon Ball. Meanwhile, Frieza, enraged by the loss of five balls, unleashes destructive energy blasts across Namek. These explosions dislodge the Dragon Ball, sending it rolling into the nearby water. Bulma submerges in her submarine to recover it but faces an unexpected threat. A giant crab, mistaking her approach for an attempt to steal its eggs, attacks her. In a twist of events, Bulma saves the creature from a falling rock. Grateful for her intervention, the crab returns the Dragon Ball to her.
