Aired on June 8, 1995

Miaka flees through a forest and is rescued from a tiger by Tamahome, who insists on protecting her due to his love. She asks for food, then steals his horse to reach Kutou while he sends Nuriko to Hotohori. The emperor cannot send soldiers without provoking war. Chichiri freezes guards to let Miaka enter, but General Nakago breaks the spell. Miaka claims to be the Priestess of Seiryu, yet agrees to see the emperor when she spots Tamahome. Nakago brings her and Yui inside. During their tearful reunion, Miaka drops a bag containing the Scarlet Suzaku copy of the Universe of the Four God. Nakago opens it, revealing her true identity as the Priestess of Suzaku.
