Ep. 12: Miaka views Yui's trauma in the mirror and resolves to prioritize the summoning over her love.
Miaka recalls her friendship with Yui before waking up healed and unclothed with Tamahome at Taiitsukun's palace. Taiitsukun, Chichiri, and the Nyan-nyans arrive as Miaka demands answers about Yui. Taiitsukun uses a magical mirror to show events from three months earlier, revealing Yui being attacked and assaulted in a Kutou slum. Horrified and blaming herself, Miaka retreats to her room. Taiitsukun explains the Priestess of Suzaku's duty, strengthening Miaka's resolve to summon Suzaku. She decides to give up Tamahome because Yui loves him. Upon returning to Konan, Tamahome confronts Miaka about her behavior. Hotohori intervenes with his sword, but Tamahome declares his love for Miaka. Hotohori accepts his stance and leaves them alone, hiding his own unrequited feelings.
