Phoenix and Maya resume their investigation at Trés Bien, discovering that Armstrong owes money to a loan shark. They gather details from Kido and visit the office of Furio Tigre, the individual who impersonated Phoenix. Detective Gumshoe informs them about Tigre's relationship with Viola Cadaverini, granddaughter of a mob boss, and reveals that Elg intended to pay a debt to Tigre with a computer virus unless he won the lottery. Maggey confirms Viola was present at the restaurant on the day of the murder. Phoenix clarifies with Viola that Tigre caused her accident rather than saving her out of love, necessitating compensation to her family. Upon realizing the truth, Viola provides Phoenix with her medical papers, which contain a hidden message on the back.
