SECT, the corporation responsible for creating J, abruptly shuts down due to resource shortages and the emergence of a new android that bears an exact resemblance to J. This new android has been implicated in the killing of a mob boss. In response to these events, Dice and Edmundo launch an investigation to uncover the underlying truth. Their primary objective is to clear their friend J of any wrongdoing and prove his innocence regarding the crime.
