Yamato takes Ritsuka to lunch, revealing that Zeroes are humans with blocked pain receptors. Later, Kouya, Yamato, Soubi, and Ritsuka engage in combat. Soubi easily defeats the Zero girls. Ritsuka stops Soubi from delivering the final blow. Kouya and Yamato decide to forfeit the battle. They choose to stop being Fighter and Sacrifice. After reaffirming their love for one another, they feel as if they have been reborn.
