Ep. 12: Marika escorts Gruier to the Artificial Womb on a ghost ship amid royal conflict.
Marika, Misa, Hyakume, and Schnitzer escort Gruier through a ghost ship to the Artificial Womb, the birthplace of the Serenity royal family. Gruier intends to destroy the facility, believing the monarchy’s era has ended and the kingdom should be ruled by its citizens. Grunhilde and her soldiers intervene, arguing the Womb must remain to produce a new heir and restore royal glory. As pirates and soldiers prepare for combat, Marika uses a smoke grenade to incapacitate both Gruier and Grunhilde. Upon waking, Gruier discovers the opposing factions have formed an alliance. The mission proves futile because the Womb is non-functional, as Gruier had already eliminated the last princess born there. Gruier and Grunhilde reconcile, and the golden ghost ship is returned to the Serenity Kingdom Star System while the Bentenmaru heads home.
