Ep. 5: Marika Decides to Command Bentenmaru After Outsmarting Lightning XI

Marika devises a plan for the Odette II to bypass the Sand of the Red Star by entering the atmosphere. The crew allows a ghost ship to jam their radar and infect their operating system as a ruse. They identify the enemy as the Lightning XI. Lynn Lambretta hacks the enemy ship to disable its engines. When the Lightning XI targets the Odette II with beams, Marika prevents acceleration to avoid detection by infrared sensors. Instead, she uses solar sails to blind the enemy. The Bentenmaru and Barbaroosa arrive to destroy the Lightning XI. Upon returning home, Marika informs her mother that she has decided to become the captain of the Bentenmaru.
