Kichi, heir to the century-old Shibahama restaurant in Kanda, ignores family duties for art. Ohara sends Yamaoka and Kurita to evaluate the food for the Ultimate Menu and investigate the owner's reluctance to transfer control. The elderly owner serves sea goblin, highlighting distinct preparations for skin and flesh. Kichi invites Touzai New to his exhibition, prompting Ohara to send the pair. Yamaoka criticizes Kichi’s fish paintings, arguing they lack culinary merit, and uses Shibahama chefs as judges to prove his point. Disillusioned by this critique, Kichi destroys his artwork. He then shifts his focus entirely to developing his cooking skills, abandoning his previous artistic pursuits in favor of the family business legacy.
