The friends must navigate the situation in Kingland to assist AyanoTech in recovering the stolen assets and resolving the digital threat.

Lan and friends detour to Jawaii while Dex allies with WWW using a new device.

After returning from Kingland, Lan and his companions stop in Jawaii to see Dex. Dex discovers a card-scanning device that enhances NetNavis and collaborates with the WWW to seek revenge on Lan. The device causes GutsMan to go on a rampage through NetCity, growing to a massive size. During the chaos, GutsMan takes Roll hostage, holding her in a manner similar to King Kong. This sequence highlights the dangerous consequences of the new technology and the escalating conflict involving Dex and his allies.

Lan meets Shuko and her NetNavi SpoutMan faces security after a power restoration attempt.

Lan encounters Shuko, a girl characterized by bad luck and low self-confidence. After her electricity is disconnected, her NetNavi, SpoutMan, attempts to restore the power independently. During this unauthorized action, SpoutMan is apprehended by security personnel. Overwhelmed by the situation, he begins to weep, resulting in a massive surge of tears that floods the internet and deletes the guardian Navis. To resolve the crisis, MegaMan employs the NumberSoul technique to soothe SpoutMan and calm him down, effectively ending the chaotic situation caused by the emotional outburst.

The NetSavers hold DesertMan captive, prompting the Darkloids to demand his return. SpikeMan abducts Keifer and Manuela, threatening to crush them in a car compactor. Lan and Famous intervene to rescue the hostages. FlashMan then attacks and deletes DesertMan. Chaud reappears and defeats FlashMan by using a Program Advance within CrossFusion.

ShadeMan questions his employer after seeing dark energy's effect on DesertMan and FlashMan

Observing the deterioration of DesertMan and FlashMan caused by dark energy, ShadeMan develops doubts about the Mysterious Man he serves. Concurrently, Lan and Chaud arrive at a warehouse suspected of storing DarkChips. Their investigation is interrupted by the arrival of GravityMan, who was dispatched by ShadeMan to intercept them. This encounter shifts the focus from the stolen chips to the immediate threat posed by the reploid sent by the distrustful ShadeMan, highlighting the growing tension within the antagonist's ranks and the escalating danger facing the protagonists.
