Children mock Lady Iku with a song claiming she is cursed after two fiancés died. Kogan disciples credit Fujiki for defeating the Funaki twins by striking the older one first, creating an opening for Irako. In a bath house, Irako tells Lady Iku that her husband Kogan likely caused her fiancés' deaths and denies the curse. Ushimata warns Irako to stop visiting her. Kogan names Irako his heir and orders Mie to yield, but Irako requests the ceremony occur after the wedding. On a cold winter night, a Funaki swordsman attacks Fujiki for revenge. Despite numb fingers from the cold, Fujiki defeats him using the Nagare Boshi strike.
