The Inter High competition takes place in Hiroshima, Yamato’s hometown. Suzuka competes while Yamato serves as a cheerleader, feeling depressed about his past failures. Yasunobu urges Honoka to confess her feelings to prevent Suzuka from taking Yamato. After practice, Honoka comforts Yamato, but Suzuka arrives because Miki instructed her to do the same. Honoka panics and kisses Yamato before leaving in embarrassment. The following day, Suzuka wins third place and receives significant attention, deepening Yamato’s depression. Honoka finds him sulking alone and attempts to kiss him again. Yamato initially stops her, but when Honoka begins crying about their relationship status, he kisses her. Miki witnesses this interaction between the two.
