Astilbe: Funazoko no Hanayome

A man and a woman share a kiss in a distant land during a time of upheaval. The narrative follows a Portuguese merchant and a Japanese woman referred to as a "slave," whose relationship is shaped by the turbulence of their historical setting and their shared longing for freedom. A timid girl named Tatsu follows her childhood friend Shino to Nagasaki harbor, where she boards a trading ship and meets Leo, a bold young man. She ends up confined below deck in servitude, facing threats from the crew.
