Uzumaki

A foggy coastal town in Japan is under a mysterious curse, as described by Shuichi Saito, a reclusive young man dating Kirie Goshima. The curse is tied to the spiral, or uzumaki, a recurring shape found in nature and the human body. It appears subtly in shells, plants, and weather patterns, and more disturbingly in people's physical features and behaviors. As the influence of the spiral grows, it causes increasing madness among the townspeople, drawing them into a deepening spiral of obsession and horror. The story includes an additional chapter later added to some editions.
