Gate Keepers

In 1969 Tokyo, an unseen threat emerges in the form of the "Invaders," unknown to the general public but recognized by the secret organization A.E.G.I.S. While traveling to school, Ukiya Shun witnesses a confrontation between a girl and several Invaders. He intervenes and discovers he shares a rare ability with her: the power to create a "gate." This leads him to join A.E.G.I.S., where he works to recruit others with similar abilities to defend the city. He seeks to distance himself from the legacy of his late father, whom he resents.
