A yakuza gang member in Shinjuku during 1979, Jouji Akutsu, loses a fight with a university cheering squad and is left humiliated. His life deteriorates from that point, leading to his death by suicide in 1989 after being ordered killed by a friend. He awakens again in 1979 at the moment of the fight that began his downfall. With a decade of additional knowledge and experience, he successfully confronts the students and vows to change his path. He adopts the habit of wearing a gold emblem and starts rebuilding his life.
