Ep. 10: Black Jack saves Catherine using a Type Hydra heart designed by his father Hazama Kagemitsu

Black Jack survives an assassination attempt when his mother’s pendant deflects the bullet. He performs surgery on Dr. Bart’s mother, Catherine, discovering she possesses a Type Hydra artificial heart that continues beating after extraction. Jack replaces the device with another artificial heart to save her life. Investigation of Mio’s pendant reveals a microfiche showing the Type Hydra was designed by Jack’s father, Hazama Kagemitsu. Catherine explains that Kagemitsu abandoned her and the hospital for the Noir Project, but returned to save her life during a heart attack using the experimental device. Meanwhile, Benitokage steals the Type Hydra, leading to the cancellation of the order to kill Jack.
