Ep. 165: Cell reveals Trunks's weakness and proposes a new tournament to find a worthy opponent
Aired on November 18, 1992

During the ongoing conflict between Trunks and Cell, the latter exposes that his ascended form's increased mass reduces Trunks's speed. Goku, having trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, recognizes this same vulnerability and intends to maintain his Super Saiyan state as long as possible to overcome it. Vegeta recovers from his injuries and returns to the island alongside Krillin to continue fighting Cell. However, Trunks reveals that Cell refuses to kill him, choosing instead to revive the World Martial Arts Tournament. Cell seeks a genuine challenge by inviting anyone on Earth who believes they possess the strength to defeat him permanently to step forward before he destroys the planet.
