During his elementary school years, Chuuta lost his three closest friends in a mountain accident, a tragedy he attributes to his own suggestion to visit the location. He has carried this burden of self-blame ever since. Suddenly, he comes face-to-face with an individual who bears an exact resemblance to his late friend, Mizoguchi Ken. Confused and uncertain about how to react to this startling resemblance, Chuuta chooses to approach the stranger. He intends to express his long-held apologies and seek some form of closure regarding the past events that shaped his life and his enduring sense of responsibility for the loss.
