The ship's captain advises the group to head toward a tree atop a mountain rather than proceeding directly to their destination. Leorio boards a bus while the others travel toward the tree. The bus proves to be a trap, prompting Leorio to abandon it and reunite with Gon and Kurapika. Along the way, they encounter Matthew, an examinee who initially travels with them but subsequently betrays the group. Despite these challenges, the trio successfully solves a riddle posed by an examiner, allowing them to advance to the next stage of the examination.
