Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, and Shippo arrive in a town where the firstborns are sacrificed to an arrogant water god. They are hired by Taromaru, the village headman's son, to rescue his friend Suekichi. Inuyasha, Kagome, and Shippo collaborate to destroy the false water god. Meanwhile, Miroku and Sango search for and free the true water goddess. The goddess then arrives to assist the others in their battle against the false deity. This coordinated effort allows the group to resolve the crisis in the town and save the captives from the harmful rituals imposed by the arrogant water god.
