Lost in the mountains, Ash, Brock, Misty, and Pikachu hear an explosion and find a dam construction site. The foreman explains that Diglett are delaying work and he is hiring trainers to remove them. The reward for success is free travel to a luxurious natural hot springs. While observing the other applicants, Ash spots his rival Gary among the recruits. The group must navigate this unexpected challenge while trying to continue their journey through the difficult terrain.
