Ep. 3: Squid Girl’s courage test and beach encounters with predators and new recruit Nagisa

The group visits a cemetery for a courage test, but Squid Girl’s bioluminescence frightens them when she moves ahead. Later, she plays with Takeru in the water but panics upon seeing inflatable killer whales and sharks, which are her natural predators. When Takeru nearly drowns, he asks Goro to teach him swimming, prompting Squid Girl to try and outdo him. Meanwhile, surfer Nagisa Saito joins Lemon as a hired hand. Squid Girl is pleased that Nagisa fears her, yet Nagisa is confused why the others do not consider Squid Girl dangerous. This episode highlights Squid Girl’s unique traits and her interactions with friends and new acquaintances during these varied activities.
