Apr 10, 1995Ryu, residing in rural Japan, accepts a letter from his old friend Ken Masters, inviting him to the United States after many years apart. Ryu travels to San Francisco, where Ken meets him with a limousine to take him to his wealthy home. The 17-year-old boys later ride Ken’s motorcycle and enter a pub named Mt. Fuji by bribing the staff. Ken provokes soldiers by flirting with one of their companions, leading to a fight. After defeating the soldiers, their Sergeant, Guile, appears before them.
2EP 2Air Force Sergeant Guile Defeats Ryu and Ken in Bar Fight
Apr 17, 1995Guile confronts Ryu and Ken, prompting Ryu to attack the Air Force Sergeant. Guile retaliates by severely beating Ryu, leaving him bedridden for several days. He then reprimands Ken for watching passively. Ken defends their honor code, which restricts combat to one-on-one duels, and insults Guile’s unit as military meatheads for ganging up on Ryu. There, they are blocked by the villainous Lean, who commands his two strongest bodyguards to stop the men. After Ryu and Ken defeat both guards, Lean takes Chun-Li hostage. Her father, Dorai, the police chief of Hong Kong, arrives with other officers. Dorai shoots Lean in the head, neutralizing him and rescuing the trio. He then escorts Chun-Li, Ryu, and Ken back to their hotel, reprimanding his daughter for her reckless behavior. Upon returning, Chun-Li explains the plan for the next day, which involves visiting the martial arts actor Fei Long.
5EP 5Fei Long Demands Real Combat During Movie Filming With Ryu And Ken
May 8, 1995Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li visit Fei Long, who is filming a movie. Fei Long is frustrated with the stuntmen hired for the fight scenes, and demands "a real challenge". He believes in "making the fight real", as opposed to the strictly choreographed fight scenes found in most other martial arts films. Ryu and Ken both volunteer, but only one of them may participate. Fei Long picks Ken as his opponent, and the two engage in combat. However, Fei Long and Ken take the fight a little too far for a film, damaging most of the set pieces in the process. The match ends in a draw when the director of the film stops the fight because of the injuries Fei Long and Ken are inflicting upon each other.
6EP 6The Secret Technique Appears as Ki Rises and Hadou Awakens
May 22, 1995Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li visit a shopping mall, where Ryu encounters a distressed elderly man. Although Ryu offers to call an ambulance, the man requests privacy to demonstrate a martial arts technique. He generates a blue fireball from his hands using ki, swallows it, and survives the internal explosion to regain his health. Intrigued, Ryu invites the man to his shop to practice the move. Despite failing to master the technique, Ryu gains deeper insight into his spiritual self through this encounter.
7EP 7Ashura's Revenge: The Muay Thai Assassin Attacks
Jun 5, 1995The Ashura crime syndicate plots to assassinate Chun-Li's father, Dorai, after he repeatedly thwarts their operations. To lure him out, they kidnap Chun-Li and use her as bait. While meeting Ryu and Ken in a park, Chun-Li is ambushed by an Ashura member disguised as a clown. The two martial artists arrive just in time to rescue her and defeat the attackers. The group then proceeds to Dorai's dojo to intercept the assassination attempt. Chun-Li enters to guard her father, while Ryu, Ken, and Fei Long remain outside to fight off the remaining thugs. Although they succeed in protecting Dorai, one enemy escapes. During the dojo attack, Akuma makes a brief cameo appearance.

Jun 12, 1995Seeking to learn Muay Thai, Ryu and Ken travel to Thailand following their conflict with Ashura's forces. At Bangkok airport, they split to process entry approvals. Donu, a thug from Episode 7 who escaped after failing to kill Dorai, disguises himself and plants heroin in Ryu's bag for revenge. Unaware of the setup, Ryu is arrested upon reaching an escalator and imprisoned. Inside, he suffers brutal torture from Warden Nuchi and harassment from inmates. Ryu retaliates against two taunting prisoners throughout the episode. Subsequently, Sagat, feared by those inmates, prepares to fight Ryu. Akuma briefly appears at the airport while waiting for his luggage.
9EP 9Muay Thai Superstar: The Grand Prison Battle Symphony
Jun 19, 1995Ryu and Sagat engage in a Muay Thai duel, with Ryu surprisingly mastering the style and landing critical blows. The match concludes as a draw when Sagat recognizes their kindred spirits and vows to protect Ryu in prison, ending the fight. However, Nuchi demands they continue because he collected 50% of the betting money. When Sagat refuses, an enraged Nuchi attacks them both. Ryu and Sagat successfully defend themselves and easily defeat Nuchi. Later, Ken secures Ryu’s release on bail, though he is forbidden from leaving the country until he proves his innocence. Ryu and Sagat bid farewell, and Ryu departs to find the man who framed him.

Jun 26, 1995Ryu and Ken identify Donu as their framer due to a cheek scar, leading them to an Ashura hideout where they defeat Donu and his members. There, they are captured and beaten by Zochi, the Ashura leader who has a chainsaw attached to his left arm. Zochi intends to amputate Ryu’s left arm for his collection, but Dorai and the Hong Kong police raid the location using a tracker on Soong. Ryu and Ken defeat Zochi during the chaos. Later, Sagat is released due to new evidence and advises Ryu to seek the Hadou from a monk named Dhalsim in India.

Interpol Chief Barrac approved this secret operation because Dorai was investigating the Shadowlaw crime syndicate. Cammy prepares to execute Dorai, unaware of the complex web of deception surrounding the mission.

Aug 28, 1995Bison kidnaps Ken and demands a $1,000,000,000 ransom from Mr. Masters to cover losses incurred when Dorai shut down Ashura. Mr. Masters dispatches US military commandos Guile and Nash to Spain to rescue Ken. Guile identifies Ken and his friend Ryu from a photograph, noting their tendency for trouble. After a briefing by Mr. Masters's college friend, the commandos depart in a helicopter. Concurrently, Dorai survives an assassination attempt by Cammy White. On a beach, Ryu resists an attack by Zangief, a Shadowlaw wrestler sent by Bison to capture him and bring him to Bison's headquarters.
20EP 20An Unknown Explosive Force Reveals the Full Extent of Unbelievable Power
Sep 4, 1995Zangief and a Shadowlaw driver defeat Ryu on the beach, knocking him unconscious and loading him into their truck. Guile and Nash arrive shortly after, but the pair escapes before they can intervene. Guile and Nash search a castle for Ken, who was previously held there by Bison’s physicians, but find the location empty. Meanwhile, Ryu awakens at Shadowlaw headquarters and confronts Bison. Bison easily overpowers Ryu and taunts him into using the Hadouken. As Ryu attempts to fire the attack, Bison uses his Psycho Power to destabilize it, causing the Hadouken to explode. The resulting blast, combined with Bison’s energy, knocks Ryu unconscious once again.
