He eventually confesses that his poor performance stems from regret over lying to her. Miki offers to intervene, but Yamato refuses, insisting he must resolve the issue himself. He subsequently tells Suzuka the truth, emphasizing how much their friendship means to him. Suzuka later contacts him to state she is no longer angry and encourages him to focus on his track performance.
