In the first segment, Lum travels forward in time to retrieve Ataru's diary, which allows her to foresee and anticipate the specific events of his upcoming day. In the second segment, Mendou discovers an alien that resembles an abandoned baby inside his locker. He is then assigned the responsibility of caring for the creature, a task that quickly escalates into increasingly absurd and difficult situations as the demands of the infant grow more complex and ridiculous.
