His friends, believing he stayed, return to the island by boat. Syrus regrets their final interaction being a fight. A week later, Jaden returns to explain the events, which cheers Syrus up.

Jun 29, 2005After four spirit keys are stolen, Chazz and the Ojamas attempt to identify the culprit. Following several incorrect guesses, they encounter Don Zaloog, the fourth Shadow Rider and leader of the Dark Scorpion Grave Robbers, a faction of Duel Monster spirits. Don Zaloog determines that defeating Chazz is necessary to utilize the power of the spirit keys, prompting a duel between the two. Chazz achieves victory by fusing his Ojama trio into Ojama King. Subsequently, the Dark Scorpions choose to join Chazz, residing in his room alongside the Ojamas and other monster spirits, which greatly annoys Chazz.

Jul 6, 2005Jaden is challenged by Abidos, the fifth Shadow Rider. According to Professor Banner, Abidos was a legendary pharaoh who never lost a duel. As they duel for the spirit keys, Jaden discovers that Abidos isn't as strong as he seems, which makes Abidos come to the realization that his servants let him win out of fear of his power. Jaden defeated him using his H-E-R-O Flash combo and promised to maybe duel Abidos again someday.

Jul 13, 2005After Atticus loses his memory, Alexis travels to the forbidden dorm where he originally vanished. She is pulled into a mysterious dark realm and duels Titan, who has become the sixth Shadow Rider following his battle with Jaden. Although Titan’s darkness monsters initially overwhelm her, Alexis manages to defeat him. Following this victory, she is transported back to the Shadow Realm. Meanwhile, Atticus regains his memory and recalls that Professor Banner was the one who invited him to the dorm in the first place.

His spirit is consumed by his cat, Pharaoh. Chazz, Alexis, and Atticus are released and return to their world.

Bastion reveals that Crowler has arranged for Syrus to duel Missy, an Obelisk Blue wielding a potent insect deck. Victory would grant Syrus promotion to Ra Yellow, a path Crowler selected because Syrus is the younger brother of Zane Truesdale. Confronting his anxiety about being left behind as his peers advance, Syrus overcomes his fear during the match. He defeats Missy using Super Vehicroid Jumbo-Drill, achieving his desired promotion. Believing he needs a new vessel, Sartorius arrives at Duel Academy and claims to be Aster’s manager seeking clients. He encounters Chazz in the forest and defeats him in a duel. Sartorius then traps Chazz’s soul in The Hangman tarot card before leaving the island. Jaden departs by boat, vowing not to return until he discovers his destiny. The next morning, Chazz is found wandering the dorm in white clothing, claiming he has seen the light.
