Mimi refuses to leave her comfortable surroundings, prompting Tai and Joe to seek Palmon's assistance in recording her voice. This plan fails, resulting in the group's imprisonment after Palmon confronts Mimi about her attitude. During the night, Mimi experiences nightmares of abandonment until Sora appears in her dream, urging her to sing and apologize. Upon waking, Mimi secures her friends' release and successfully wakes ShogunGekomon. The newly awakened leader attacks aggressively but is defeated by MetalGreymon. The next day, Mimi apologizes for her actions and rejoins the DigiDestined.

Sep 5, 1999Two DigiDestined groups reunite, discovering Sora has been helping them while avoiding contact. She explains the significance of their crests and reveals DemiDevimon claimed her life was loveless due to her relationship with her mother, preventing her Crest of Love from glowing. Meanwhile, DemiDevimon receives orders from his master to kill Sora. After sunset, he attacks, but Biyomon intercepts the poison intended for Sora. Myotismon appears and swiftly defeats the attackers. Although Sora initially fears for Biyomon, she realizes she possesses love in her heart. This realization allows the injured Birdramon to digivolve into Garudamon, enabling the group to escape to safety.

Sep 12, 1999Gennai informs the group that an eighth DigiDestined exists and that Myotismon intends to invade the Real World with an army of evil Digimon to locate the child. The children infiltrate Myotismon's castle to prevent the opening of a gate to the Real World. Their mission fails when Myotismon's subordinate, Gatomon, animates a series of Devidramon to hold them off. This intervention stops the group from stopping the villain's plan to access the Real World.

During the journey, Duane accidentally causes Izzy to fall from a bridge. A Gesomon subsequently attacks the group but is defeated by Ikkakumon. Following the battle, Ikkakumon transports the children back home on his back, concluding their journey.

Oct 24, 1999Following a dispute with Patamon, Matt and T.K. find themselves in the Shibuya district while the DigiDestined continue their search. There, they meet Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon, two of Myotismon's minions who prefer entertainment over serving their master. When the pair refuses to attack the boys, first by feigning compliance and then by direct refusal, Myotismon inflicts a severe and brutal punishment upon them. Enraged by this heartless cruelty, Matt and T.K. witness the intervention of WereGarurumon, who is soon joined by Angemon. Together, the two Digimon drive Myotismon away, ending the immediate threat. This confrontation highlights the minions' reluctance to harm innocents and the growing alliance between the Digimon to protect their human partners from Myotismon's tyranny in the digital world.

Nov 7, 1999Myotismon surrounds Odaiba with a fog barrier, ordering Phantomon and his Bakemon followers to abduct residents. Sora and Mimi are among those imprisoned and attempt to organize an escape. Sora utilizes a Buddhist mantra from Joe to weaken the Bakemon, but Phantomon remains unaffected after destroying the stereo playing the chant. Dark Tyrannomon defeats Togemon, leaving the situation dire. Biyomon and Sora’s mother arrive to assist, prompting Palmon to digivolve into Lillymon, who successfully tames Dark Tyrannomon. Confronting Myotismon, Lillymon holds her ground while Biyomon digivolves into Birdramon to drive Phantomon away.
EP 36Myotismon captures children while Joe and T.K. face MegaSeadramon near Rainbow Bridge
Nov 14, 1999After defeating Lilymon, Myotismon uses Gatomon to locate the eighth child. Sora escapes with the paralyzed Lilymon on Birdramon, but their mother and Mimi are recaptured. Tai leaves Kari with Matt to rescue the others, while Izzy and Tentomon avoid detection by Matt and T.K.'s father at the TV station. Meanwhile, Joe and T.K. find Wizardmon holding Kari's crest near the Rainbow Bridge and are attacked by MegaSeadramon. Joe nearly drowns until his crest glows, allowing Ikkakumon to digivolve into Zudomon and defeat the enemy. Kari is found by Phantomon and surrenders to protect Matt and Sora, arriving at the Convention Center as Tai approaches.

Agumon digivolves to Greymon to defeat the enemies, and the pair reunites with Mimi before heading to the Fuji TV Station. There, the DigiDestined reunite after Wizardmon, rescued by Joe, T.K., Patamon, and Zudomon, heals Lilymon. They confront Myotismon and Phantomon, but the villain proves too powerful. Angemon injures Myotismon and destroys Phantomon, but Myotismon targets Kari and Gatomon. Wizardmon intercepts the fatal blow and dies, causing Kari's Digivice to force DemiDevimon to drop it. With both her Crest and Digivice, Kari allows Gatomon to digivolve into Angewomon. Empowered by the others, Angewomon destroys the paralyzed Myotismon with her Celestial Arrow. After escaping the collapsing station, the group finds the fog thickens despite the villain's defeat.

Nov 28, 1999Gennai shares a DigiWorld prophecy regarding an undead king reborn as a beast, where two arrows of hope and light striking loved ones will trigger a miracle. The Digidestined defeat the final Bakemon but discover Myotismon survives, having transformed into the mindless mega-level VenomMyotismon after consuming DemiDevimon. This new form overwhelms MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon as it advances toward the convention center to consume humans. Upon the arrival of Angemon and Angewomon, Izzy recognizes their connection to the prophecy's final verse. Tai and Matt risk their lives to activate the miracle, enabling Agumon and Gabumon to Warp Digivolve into WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon.
EP 39WarGreymon and allies target VenomMyotismon's weakpoint to save the Digital World
Dec 5, 1999WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon are joined by Angewomon and other DigiDestined Digimon in champion forms to fight VenomMyotismon. Their attacks reveal an entity inside the enemy's stomach, which Tai identifies as the weakpoint. Using the Crests to restrain VenomMyotismon, WarGreymon inserts a TV station ball into the hole to keep it open. This allows the two to concentrate their attacks and destroy VenomMyotismon. The fog clears to show the Digital World in the sky. A plane's wing freezes and breaks, but Garudamon saves it. The DigiDestined realize years have passed since their departure and decide to return to the Digital World with Kari and Salamon. After their parents reluctantly give their blessings, the kids use their Digivices to open a portal and return.
EP 40The DigiDestined face the Dark Masters' overwhelming power in the Digital World.
Dec 12, 1999The DigiDestined return to the Digital World and meet Chuumon, who mourns his lost friend Sukamon. They discover that four Mega-level Digimon known as the Dark Masters have seized control of the realm while the group was in Tokyo. The children’s Digimon evolve to Champion forms to battle MetalSeadramon, then to Ultimate forms against Machinedramon, but they are swiftly defeated. Puppetmon reverses their evolution, leaving them vulnerable. Piedmon, the leader, easily overpowers WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon and kills Chuumon. As the Dark Masters prepare to eliminate the children, Piximon intervenes. He sacrifices himself to protect the DigiDestined, allowing them to escape the imminent threat.
EP 41The children flee Scorpiomon but face immediate opposition from MetalSeadramon at sea.

EP 42Whamon rescues the group from MetalSeadramon before a fierce ocean battle ensues.
Dec 26, 1999The children face imminent destruction by MetalSeadramon until Whamon intervenes to save them. They escape to the ocean floor, but MetalSeadramon and his Divermon allies pursue them. MetalSeadramon eventually catches up, triggering a battle where Agumon Warp Digivolves into WarGreymon. Despite this transformation, WarGreymon is nearly defeated by the enemy. Although Whamon washes away the Divermon attackers, they return to assault the group again. Ikkakumon then digivolves into Zudomon, who easily destroys the Divermon. This sequence highlights the intense struggle against MetalSeadramon and the crucial support provided by Whamon and Zudomon during the underwater conflict.
