Ep. 256: Buu threatens Earth while Piccolo buys time for the boys to train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Buu insists on fighting Gotenks, but Piccolo recognizes the boys are unprepared. To delay the battle, Piccolo convinces Buu to spend a day eliminating the remaining humans on Earth. While Buu patrols the Lookout's perimeter, Piccolo orders Krillin to wake the boys and enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for training. Buu then unleashes a massive energy barrage from his hand, wiping out nearly all life on the planet. Only Hercule, Bee, Tien, Chiaotzu, and those on the Lookout survive. Piccolo requests a one-hour delay, which Super Buu accepts because Videl, Hercule's daughter, pleads for the time.
