Ep. 2: The Children investigate Serafine's art and face shadow creatures in Sweden and Chikao.

In 1901 Sweden, Palza receives the Nobel prize for X rays. By 2012, Helga is imprisoned in Chikao while the Children study Serafine's paintings and fight shadow creatures. The group splits; some seek Serafine's reincarnation, others aim to find Mel and Palza to return their memories. Helga and Chit escape Chikao again. Thoma suffers nightmares about Helga. Eventually, the Children, Helga, and Chit board the same train to the mainland, leaving Thoma with lingering doubts.
