He visits the Ichijō twins to borrow Sumireko's study materials and later encounters Kaoruko while photocopying them at a convenience store. During these interactions, Nozomu uncovers a surprising truth about their past. He learns that both Sumireko and Kaoruko only made the childhood promise with him due to their intense rivalry with each other, rather than genuine affection.
