Shihoru apologizes for assuming Haruhiro and Yume were dating, which triggers jealousy in Ranta. Yume and Shihoru persuade Haruhiro, Ranta, and Moguzo to welcome Mary despite the awkward circumstances. In Damuro, Team Haruhiro efficiently eliminates three goblins. Mary heals Moguzo's head wound but ignores Ranta's arm bruise, and she rebuffs Haruhiro's attempt to get her to open up. At Shelly's Tavern, the group sees Mary talking to Shinohara, leader of Team Orion. That night, Haruhiro dreams of Manato telling him not to doubt himself as leader. The next day, Haruhiro notes that Moguzo needs a helmet and that Mary used her staff to protect Shihoru. Mary politely declines joining the group for a meal. Later, Hayashi of Team Orion explains Mary's coldness, revealing she healed her former party's minor injuries like Manato did, but three members died when her magic depleted too soon during a fight with a giant kobold in the Cyrene Mine.
