Ep. 23: Suzu’s Past in Twelve Kingdoms, Shoukei’s Exile, and Yoko’s Coronation Visions

Suzu, who lived a century ago, was sold by her family in Japan and entered the Twelve Kingdoms. She served as a handmaiden to the harsh mistress Riyou. In the present, Suzu learns about Taiki, who grew up in Japan, and travels to meet him. Meanwhile, King Hou rules ruthlessly while his daughter Shoukei remains unaware of the mass murders occurring under their reign. An uprising results in the king and queen being dethroned and killed before Shoukei’s eyes. She is stripped of her immortality and exiled to an orphanage. Concurrently, Yoko prepares for her official coronation but begins experiencing visions from her sword again.
