Aired on November 26, 2002

Shoukei endures poor treatment in Queen Kyou’s palace. Queen Sai takes custody of Suzu, criticizing her servant treatment, and sends her to live among the populace to understand the world. Yoko similarly ventures out to learn governance, with Keiki securing her safety despite his reservations. Suzu encounters performers from her past, including an old woman who knew her as a child. She meets Asano, the band’s accountant, who has become mentally unstable. Asano reveals a gun from Hourai purchased from an ignorant merchant and points it at Suzu, declaring that the game is nearly over.
