Ep. 22: Yamanami recalls childhood ricefishes as the Shinsengumi raid the inn and Yoshida faces Okita and Tetsu.

Yamanami tells Tetsu about watching ricefishes in a canal during his youth. The Shinsengumi attack the inn, where Yoshida watches Kondou kill Teizo Miyabe and Jyusuke Matsuda. Yoshida lets Suzu summon reinforcements. Heisuke cuts Yoshida’s spear in half, but Yoshida impales the broken shaft onto Heisuke’s head before Shinpachi can intervene. Susumu fights Yugao on the rooftops while Okita engages Yoshida in a fierce duel. When Tetsu arrives, Okita urges him to flee. Okita is pinned and defenseless. As Yoshida prepares to strike the final blow, Tetsu steps in to face Yoshida alone.
