The NetSavers and Lan's friends devise a plan to rescue ProtoMan from darkness using a VaccineChip. They lure him into a trap at a deserted hotel to execute the strategy, but the chip fails to work. Chaud then performs a CrossFusion with Dark ProtoMan to attempt a cure, which transports them into a world of memories where they fight against the darkness. Although the darkness is eventually alleviated, the intense battle results in both Chaud and ProtoMan being hospitalized afterward.
