Kenshin and Sojiro engage in their second duel, continuing the conflict left incomplete in Shingetsu Village. Sojiro demonstrates his Shukuchi technique, utilizing rapid legwork to close distances instantly. Kenshin sustains significant injuries while Sojiro remains untouched, even evading the Kuzu-ryūsen attack which is typically considered inescapable. Sojiro recalls Kenshin sparing Senkaku during their previous encounter at Shingetsu Village, a memory that serves as a distraction. This recollection prompts Sojiro to pause the fight after breaking the strap of one of his shoes.
