Yumi leads Kenshin and Sanosuke to the top of the Inferno Arena. As they climb, Kenshin reflects on his past and future. Shishio waits at the summit with Hōji. He declares the battle will last fifteen minutes and kisses Yumi before departing. The duel between the two manslayers begins. Shishio demonstrates his Secret Sword technique, Homura Dama. He then bites a piece from Kenshin's shoulder.
