Ep. 58: Shishio Challenges Kenshin's Philosophy While Saito and Aoshi Intervene
Aired on August 13, 1997

58
Shishio argues that Kenshin misunderstands natural laws, asserting that survival of the fittest relies on chaos rather than a futile illusion of peace. He employs his Guren Kaina technique, the second Secret Sword, which causes a concussion in Kenshin. Saito bursts in using the Gatotsu First Stance to execute the Ishiki attack, but Shishio’s forehead metal plate deflects the blow. After attempting additional Gatotsu stances, Saito is defeated by Shishio. Sanosuke also tries to attack but fails. Finally, Aoshi appears to engage Shishio in combat.
