Soukou no Strain

Two opposing factions, Union and Deague, are locked in a long-forgotten war. The Union relies on manned Strain units, while the Deague employs unmanned Tumoru systems. Sara Werec, a 16-year-old from a respected family, trains at Grapera Space Armed Soldier Academy to become a Strain pilot, known as a Reasoner. Her older brother, Ralph, was deployed to a distant front 130 light-years away when she was 11, a journey taking 400 years objectively but only two subjectively due to relativity. Orphaned at a young age, Sara and Ralph share a strong bond, and she longs to reunite with him. When Deague forces attack Sara's planet, she discovers Ralph among the attackers, who have kidnapped a girl in a capsule. Determined to uncover the truth, Sara pilots a Strain to pursue him but is attacked, sustaining damage to her Mimic, a neural copy essential for Strain control.
