Sakurai has no interest in school sports and avoids them entirely. After witnessing a female classmate, Toyoguchi, in the locker room, he agrees to keep the incident private by becoming the manager of the female lacrosse team. Toyoguchi, who founded the team, is enthusiastic about the sport. Though hesitant at first, Sakurai gradually becomes involved and starts to take an interest in lacrosse. He begins to study the game and enjoy it, shifting from his previously indifferent attitude. Over time, he becomes more willing to challenge himself and invest effort into something meaningful.
