Saichi "The Immortal" Sugimoto learns about a hidden wealth of gold stolen from the Ainu, and the only way to find it is to decode the tattoos of a group of prisoners, made by the man who had stolen the gold. Sugimoto intends to pursue this rumor with the help of Asirpa, a wise Ainu girl whose father was slain and pilfered from.

Sugimoto is captured by the 7th Division after he leaves the Ainu village in secret. Asirpa plans on taking him back, and maybe beating some sense into him for leaving unannounced.
