Bai Lan spots Liu Xin Hong on the street and trails him to the Cat's Eye cafe. She was previously Xing Hong’s teammate and friend in the Qing Long unit of Zeng Dao Hui. When Xin Hong departed for Shinjoku, he entrusted her with his Qin Long ring to return later. They spend the day together, but Ryo notices they are being followed. Upon departure, Bai Lan returns the ring, revealing her reassignment to the Byakko unit of Zeng Dao Hui. Xing Hong subsequently learns from Chen that she is on a mission to infiltrate the Jun'yo Kai, who oppose Zeng Dao Hui. Her specific target is a man named Shunsuke Hayakawa.
