Dr. Ochanomizu discloses that Dr. Tenma created Atom as a substitute for his deceased son Tobio, leaving Atom distressed by this revelation. Meanwhile, the defeated Atlas is rebuilt by Dr. Tenma with enhanced strength. Atlas attacks the Tokugawa conglomerate's spaceport and travels to the Moon. Atom pursues him to prevent further destruction, while Tokugawa also arrives to eliminate his creation. The three confront each other in a fierce battle. During the conflict, the facility is destroyed, threatening to eject everyone into space. Just as disaster seems imminent, a forgotten memory resurfaces in Atlas's mind, drastically altering the course of events and the outcome of the confrontation.
